The Diary of a Chambermaid (2026)
Gianina, a young Romanian woman, cleans and tends to a wealthy Bordeaux household. By night, she rehearses the part of a maid in an amateur production of Mirbeau’s *The Diary of a Chambermaid*. She looks after Louen, her employers’ son, while her own daughter grows up across the border in Romania. The ache of that separation cuts deeper with each passing day. But as Christmas draws near, a long-awaited reunion finally starts to feel possible.
