Before sunrise, seven travelers set off along a back road from Shahdad toward Kerman. They haven't gone far when they realize one of them has died. Searching the body, they find no identification, no address, no phone—only a thick bundle of cash tucked beneath his vest, leaving the group to wonder who he was and what they've stumbled into.
