2nd Serve (2012)

After losing his comfortable coaching job at the upscale Fountain Club, former tennis pro Owen "Game Set" Match lands at the run-down public courts of the Derby City Recreation Center. There he must deal with a quirky crew of tennis instructor misfits, his strong-willed single-mother boss Sherry, and her goth son Jake, who secretly dreams of playing tennis. Owen gradually earns his coworkers' respect, repairs fractured friendships, and helps Jake improve his serve—all while growing romantically close to Sherry, who swears she never dates tennis pros. Just as things improve, his old boss and court rival challenges Derby City to a showdown at the annual Combo Cup tournament. Leading his ragtag amateur team, Owen discovers the greatest lesson of all: on the court or off, everyone deserves a second chance.
