Dr. Mark Muir, an ambitious American metallurgist, convinces the influential tycoon JP Morgan to recruit him for the monumental RMS Titanic project at Belfast's Harland & Wolff shipyard. The shipyard's progressive Chairman mentors Mark, introducing him to the city's Protestant elite. As he navigates this world, Mark becomes enamored with the enchanting yet pampered Kitty Carlton, while also feeling a connection to Sofia Silvestri, the daughter of immigrants. Through Mark's perspective, Belfast emerges as a city fraught with class and religious divides, and it soon becomes clear that his mysterious ties to the Catholic neighborhoods run deeper than expected.
