Unit One is dispatched to Aabenrå after dismembered remains of a woman are discovered in Knapsø. While reviewing the German Missing Persons List, they hear from a witness who saw a man in a silver Audi dispose of a trash bag into the harbor and noted a burning container filled with personal documents belonging to Doris Fröse. The owner of the Audi, Manfred Schlosser, provides no useful information. A nearby summerhouse owner shares that bed linens have been changed and the floors scrubbed clean. Forensic tests confirm the victim is Doris Fröse, but the name of the individual who rented the summerhouse turns out to be false. A friend of Doris reveals that she was visiting Manfred Schlosser in Denmark. Meanwhile, Manfred's wife, Pernille, discovers knives and photo albums of numerous murdered women in the attic. In a fit of panic, Manfred kills her in their bathtub. He is arrested but claims innocence.
