S2E2 Wild Adventure

After departing from their crash-site planet, Smith recognizes a familiar star and skillfully charts a course back to Earth. He coerces Don and John into promising they’ll return; otherwise, he’ll erase his navigation data. They reluctantly agree but later inform the family during dinner that they’re actually headed for Alpha Centauri instead, claiming Earth is on the far side of the Sun. Smith abruptly alters their course and carelessly discards most of their fuel. They eventually reach a refueling barge set up by Alpha Control in 1996, fill their tanks, and resume their journey to Alpha Centauri, unaware that they have a follower. Alarmed in the night, they burn through fuel trying to escape Earth’s gravity.
