Mama is in charge of editing the church bazaar cookbook and plans to feature her own chili recipe. However, Iola insists that her recipe deserves the spotlight instead. Naomi soon joins in, claiming she makes the best chili as well. This leads to a cook-off where the winner will have her recipe published in the cookbook, with Vint reluctantly appointed as the judge. All three women use the same basic ingredients, but Naomi's chili stands out with her unconventional additions: two large cans of store-bought chili, beer, Cheetos, and various other unexpected items, each linked to memories of her past relationships. As the tasting begins, Vint ultimately declares bowl 'B' the best, which belongs to Iola. Excited, she rushes home to show her dad and challenges Mama to toss it out again.
