On October 8, 2012, Pedro Bravo faced charges for the kidnapping and first-degree murder of University of Florida freshman Christian Aguilar. A fellow Florida college student, Bravo was the final person seen with Aguilar on the night of September 20th, when Aguilar vanished. Investigators uncovered that Bravo, distraught over his ex-girlfriend Friman dating his friend Aguilar, had grown obsessed with tearing them apart. In a jealous haze, he devised a lethal scheme, convinced killing Aguilar would win Friman back. During the trial, Bravo’s chillingly detailed journal became key evidence, revealing not just his fixation on Friman but his calculated plans to evade justice for murdering a friend he’d known since middle school. Ultimately, Bravo received a life sentence.
