When Sanae dotes on Squid Girl, Alex, her dog, grows jealous, so Eiko suggests a walk to help them bond. Their outing starts awkwardly, but when a fierce dog attacks, they team up and save each other. Later, Squid Girl becomes obsessed with kids doing morning exercises, causing chaos at work. Goro then assigns her as a lifesaver, but after a few false alarms, he doubts her when she spots real danger. Yet, after she rescues a group of drowning children, Goro realizes she protects the sea in her own unique way.
